Why clarity sometimes makes you feel worse
There are moments when things suddenly make sense. And instead of relief… you feel like you should have known this earlier. But why?
This feeling usually comes up when a certain clarity emerges in my life, like “oh I just had to sleep early”, “I just had to eat simply”, or “I just had to be more consistent with my business.” And then I start feeling, “then why did I not do that?” … how can I be so stupid.
It comes when I am more regulated, when I have the capacity to think and understand. But this feeling never comes in the midst of chaos, when I am going through a health crisis, or a spiritual breakdown, or massive financial stress.
Only when things have settled down and I have some balance, that’s when these clarity moments come, and they make me feel like I truly lack something basic.
A feeling like “I am the cause of my life’s biggest problems.” That maybe if I didn’t have my patterns, my life would have been much simpler.
Today I had such a moment, and you can probably feel my emotions through my words.
But I have been learning something profound lately.
My patterns, my inner resistance, are not problems. They are not my enemies. They are signposts.
That there were probably good reasons why my body resisted those things. Those reasons are still there, except I can’t exactly see them. They show up as a resistance or pull toward not wanting to do something.
Yes… sleeping late is not good. I slept late for years not because I enjoyed overworking. It was because I hoped that one day all the work I was doing would bear fruit and I’d be able to sleep early.
Not eating simply, even though my body showed signs of inflammation, was to keep calm at home. I didn’t want to be a bother and disrupt everybody’s meals.
I was constantly managing something.
If I was not consistent in business… it’s not because I didn’t know consistency is the key. Something came up within me that showed me the current path maybe was not aligned with who I had become, and I needed breaks to find my alignment again.
But it was not so simple when those moments happened, nor is it easy to see these reasons clearly when I feel shame and guilt and feel like “there’s something truly wrong with me.”
So, do I self-sabotage? Am I the cause of my own problems?
In some ways, yes. Because every time I’ve healed, my life has improved.
But there’s a deeper problem here.
We assume our patterns exist only to create difficulty. I think otherwise.
If I think of my inner resistance and patterns as problems to be solved, things to be dissolved and gotten rid of to achieve success… I think we make a fundamental mistake.
We assume they exist within us for no reason other than to cause difficulty.
I think otherwise.
My patterns, my inner resistance, are not problems. They are not my enemies. They are signposts. Messengers, trying to tell me something I don’t listen to… or don’t yet have the capacity to process.
They are always mechanisms of survival. They protect us from something we may not be ready for. Somatically, emotionally, energetically.
Our intelligence only sees the logic: “If you do this thing that works, and you don’t do it, you’re a fool.” But what is the cost of doing that? What is the inner cost? Intelligence doesn’t ask that, nor see it immediately.
Everything we do has an inner cost.
Something logically right may be somatically wrong unless we unpack what our inner messengers are telling us. If we don’t do that and force ourselves to do just the “right” things, we may find ourselves where things work outside, but not inside.
Our body knows that. That’s why it speaks through signals. An inner resistance toward a direction. A strong sense of disharmony. A pull toward something else.
It might not make sense… but you must trust it.
It doesn’t always mean those directions are wrong. It just says: listen to what’s coming up within you before you walk that path.
So, my question to you is this…what if your resistance is not the problem… but a signal you haven’t fully listened to yet?
Something logically right may be somatically wrong.
If this brought something into awareness for you, you may find this next part relevant.
Many of us move through life appearing steady and capable on the outside, handling responsibilities, yet internally something feels slightly unsettled. A subtle tension. A sense that something is not fully aligned.
My work is for those who are functioning well in life, yet feel drawn to understand their inner experience more deeply and restore a deeper sense of inner harmony.
I offer a small number of one-hour complimentary discovery conversations over Zoom, depending on my current capacity. This is a one-time exploratory conversation.
These are quiet sessions where we look at what you are currently experiencing and what may be creating that inner disharmony. There is no pressure or obligation.
If you feel a clear resonance with this, you can explore booking a discovery call here.
There is no rush to fix anything. Only a quiet return to yourself, in your own time.
